In a bizarre partnership that defies usual forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Questline Disclosed

According to the official statement, "A mysterious confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of banned practices and terrifying changes reverberate through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden sect.

The adventure centers on "strange tests and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Iconic Places and Changes

The trailer showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, likely the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Items and Extra Material

Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an special katana alongside numerous objects secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Special implements
• Survey Corps vehicle

Latest Free Story Addition

This release also brings the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also features a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly featured a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
