Nearly 25,000 Experiencing Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Storms
Nearly twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast were left experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the area, generating powerful gusts reaching over 100 km/h.
Large Hailstones and Broad Destruction
Locals witnessed large ice chunks reaching sizes of seven centimeters in particular locations. Meteorological experts confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were working to restore energy supply throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams activated to handle the widespread outages.
Victoria's Weather Woes
At the same time, nearly 1,000 households in Victoria also faced electricity disruptions after the capital city saw its most precipitation in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services responded to nearly 600 requests for assistance across the state, mostly for building damage but also for downed trees and inundation.

- Hoppers Crossing area - multiple emergency calls
- Wyndham region - nearly 180 calls for assistance
At one point on yesterday, more than 28k energy customers in the state were without power.
Climate Outlook
Moist weather were predicted to continue along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was predicted as the wettest day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential anticipated across different parts of both regions.
Safety Concern
Health officials cautioned that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after previous incidents where comparable situations led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
